Melissa Covington, MD
Dr. Melissa Covington is a board-certified Anesthesiologist with a subspeciality certification in Pain Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine . She subsequently completed her internship training at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City where she and her husband fell in love with the West and the high desert. Both her Anesthesia residency and Pain Medicine fellowship training were at the Harvard program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Covington spent the next 10 practicing as an attending physician in Pain Medicine at the University of Vermont. Her love of education and dedication to her field ultimately earned her a faculty appointment and the honor of becoming the University of Vermont’s Pain Medicine Fellowship Director.
In 2019, Dr. Covington was thrilled with the opportunity to relocate and practice in Santa Fe NM. Her professional interests include the full range of interventional pain procedures and medical management to treat both spine and non-spine causes of chronic pain. Ultimately her career goal is to minimize the negative functional and emotional impact pain has on so many patients lives.
Outside of work she enjoys photography, hiking, airplanes, cooking, and travel.
