Theresa Genovese Elliott, MD
Dr. Elliott was born in Albuquerque, NM, and grew up in Corrales. She is a lifetime resident of the state. She is Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatry) and Pain Medicine. She is also a Board Certified Independent Medical Examiner.
She graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and completed her residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Wisconsin. She then completed her fellowship in Pain Interventional procedures and Sports Medicine in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Upon returning to New Mexico, she worked in inpatient and outpatient physiatry and occupational medicine in Albuquerque and was the outpatient medical director for HealthSouth Rehabilitation Center.
She moved to Santa Fe, NM, in 2001 and started her private practice, Spine and Pain Institute of Santa Fe, treating Workers Compensation injuries.
Prior to becoming a medical doctor, she worked for the Forest Service as a Wildlife Biologist and as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. In her spare time, she enjoys road cycling and spending time with her horses and dogs.
She is looking forward to continuing to care for and treat patients in New Mexico as part of Nexus Health.
